Measured entry
8bitcn-social-proof1
A retro-styled social-proof block that renders a heading, supporting copy, a responsive stat row, and an optional logo cloud. It ships as a shadcn registry block with a companion Radix separator and retro stylesheet, and relies on React, Tailwind utilities, the cn helper, project path aliases, theme tokens, and a Google-hosted pixel font.

BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 1m 16s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/8bit/blocks/social-proof1.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A clear, responsive choice for a deliberately retro product, with useful prop-level customization and optional logos. It needs a shadcn-style setup, and the tiny pixel copy plus external font dependency make it a poor default for neutral design systems.
Use it if
- You need a compact proof section for product adoption, community activity, or marketplace metrics.
- Your interface already uses pixel-art or retro typography and can accommodate its strong visual character.
- You want stat content, headings, and optional partner logos supplied through simple props.
Skip it if
- Your product uses a restrained corporate type system where the pixel font would feel out of place.
- You need each metric to act as a link, include trend context, or support richer data visualization.
- Your privacy or performance policy prohibits loading a font from Google at runtime.
- You want a drop-in component without shadcn aliases, theme tokens, or utility CSS plumbing.
Install
| Declared dependencies | @radix-ui/react-separator |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add the cn utility, configure the at-sign path alias, install the Radix separator package, provide the expected Tailwind utilities and color tokens, and include the retro stylesheet. Keep the Google font import or replace it with a locally hosted pixel font.
