fancy-animated-gradient-with-svg

background-effectaurora-meshmotion on file

A client-side React background effect that renders colored SVG circles, sizes them from a debounced dimensions hook, and animates randomized positions through supplied theme keyframes. It ships as a shadcn registry item and relies on Tailwind utility classes, the registry hook, and the usual cn utility alias.

Verdict

A flexible decorative layer for projects already aligned with its conventions. It builds and mounts in the configured harness, but it needs a shadcn-style setup and is not a bare-project drop-in. Address narrow-screen containment and motion preferences before production use.

Use it if

  • You need an animated color field behind hero copy or another positioned content layer.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind utilities, and the registry-provided dimensions hook.
  • You want callers to control the palette, animation pace, and blur preset through props.

Skip it if

  • Your narrow layout cannot tolerate overflow without adapting the surrounding demo container.
  • You need deterministic artwork across renders, since circle sizes and paths are randomized during rendering.
  • You require a built-in reduced-motion mode or controls for pausing decorative animation.
  • You want a framework-neutral drop-in with no Tailwind theme or path-alias setup.

In a non-shadcn project, add the cn class-merging utility at the expected alias, install or recreate the debounced dimensions hook, configure the alias paths, provide the background-gradient keyframes and animation theme entry, and ensure the referenced Tailwind blur and positioning utilities are generated.
