fancy-screensaver

background-effectdark-futuristicmotion on file

A client-side React wrapper that bounces arbitrary child content within a referenced container. It ships through a shadcn registry and uses Motion, a registry-supplied dimension hook, a class-name utility, and the project alias expected by shadcn-style apps.

Verdict

A focused, usable novelty effect with clean mounting and no detected accessibility violations, but it carries a meaningful Motion cost and needs responsive care. Bare installation fails because it needs a shadcn-style setup, including the expected utility alias and registry helper.

Use it if

  • You want a DVD-logo-style bouncing element inside a bounded hero, kiosk, or idle-state panel.
  • Your app already uses React client components and Motion.
  • You can provide a positioned container ref and ensure the moving child fits inside it.

Skip it if

  • You need a dependency-light decorative effect and do not otherwise use Motion.
  • Your layout must work unchanged in narrow viewports, since the supplied demo overflows there.
  • You need reduced-motion behavior or pause controls without adding them yourself.
  • The moving content can be larger than its container or change size unpredictably.

In a non-shadcn project, install Motion, copy or replace the dimension-measurement hook, add a compatible class-name merge utility, and either configure the expected source alias or rewrite those imports. Render it as a client component inside a positioned, overflow-clipped container.
