magicui-hyper-text

text-effectdark-futuristicmotion on file

A client-side React text scramble that cycles each non-space character before revealing the supplied string. It ships as registry source, renders through Motion elements, uses Tailwind utility classes, and imports the shadcn-style cn helper backed by clsx and tailwind-merge.

Verdict

A focused, configurable scramble effect that is easy to justify for occasional display text, but excessive for ordinary copy. It builds and mounts in the prepared harness, while a bare project fails on the cn alias, so it needs a shadcn-style setup or a small source adaptation.

Use it if

  • You want a short headline, label, or hero phrase to resolve from randomized characters.
  • Your React interface already uses Motion and can absorb another client-rendered animation.
  • You need configurable timing, viewport triggering, hover replay, or a custom character set.

Skip it if

  • You need static or server-only text with no client-side animation runtime.
  • You cannot provide a reduced-motion alternative for visitors who disable animation.
  • Your design must preserve the supplied letter case because the rendered characters are forced to uppercase.
  • Adding Motion for a decorative headline is not worth the dependency cost in your bundle.

In a non-shadcn project, install Motion, clsx, and tailwind-merge; add a cn helper at the expected alias or replace that import. Configure the alias and Tailwind utilities, keep the file as a client component, and add your preferred reduced-motion behavior.
