Measured entry
magicui-striped-pattern
background-effectdark-futuristic
A decorative React SVG that tiles diagonal lines across its containing block. It ships as a TypeScript registry component with configurable direction and spacing, uses Tailwind utility classes for absolute positioning and stroke styling, and imports a shadcn-style cn helper backed by clsx and tailwind-merge.

BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 1.23s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>re-bf3130563e30/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/magicui/striped-pattern.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>re-bf3130563e30/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A focused, accessible decorative primitive that builds and mounts cleanly in its intended stack. It needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare project cannot resolve its cn utility import. Use it when a subtle static texture is enough, but make the host responsive.
Use it if
- You need a restrained striped texture behind cards, hero copy, or empty states.
- Your container already provides relative positioning, clipping, and a deliberate text color for the SVG stroke.
- You want stripe direction and spacing to remain adjustable through ordinary SVG props.
Skip it if
- Your project does not use Tailwind and you do not want to translate the positioning and stroke utilities.
- You need a background that participates in layout rather than an absolutely positioned decorative layer.
- Your design uses fixed-width hosts on narrow screens, since the demonstrated container can overflow there.
- You need animation, gradients, or richer texture behavior beyond static diagonal lines.
Install
| Declared dependencies | clsx, tailwind-merge |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add clsx and tailwind-merge, create a cn helper, configure the at-sign source alias, and ensure Tailwind processes the component. Place it inside a relatively positioned, clipped container, or replace the utility classes with equivalent CSS.
