Measured entry
originui-comp-45
A client-side one-time-code field that groups OTP slots around a separator and pairs them with a label. It ships as a shadcn registry component and relies on React, input-otp, Lucide, a registry Label, the cn helper, and Tailwind theme utilities.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 9.90s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/comp-45.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A focused, accessible OTP presentation that is ready for apps already following the expected registry conventions. It needs a shadcn-style setup, so treat it as a recipe to integrate rather than a portable drop-in.
Use it if
- You need a compact verification-code field split into two visually distinct groups.
- Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and path aliases.
- You want input-otp to handle focus, keyboard entry, and pasted codes behind custom slots.
Skip it if
- You need a standalone component with no registry utilities or theme-token setup.
- Your code flow requires resend controls, validation messages, masking, or submission behavior out of the box.
- You want a plain native text field instead of individually rendered code slots.
Install
| Declared dependencies | input-otp, radix-ui |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add input-otp and Lucide React, provide a compatible Label component and cn class-merging helper, configure the import alias, and reproduce the Tailwind utilities and theme tokens used for borders, rings, colors, spacing, and disabled states.
