Measured entry
8bitcn-login-form-2
A retro-styled React login card shipped as a shadcn registry block, with email and password fields plus Apple and Google buttons. It wraps the project's base button, card, input, and label primitives, and relies on the cn utility, Tailwind theme classes, class-variance-authority, Radix UI, and an imported retro stylesheet with a hosted font.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 839ms error during build: [vite]: Rollup failed to resolve import "class-variance-authority" from "<sandbox>re-9f3a98732fee/src/components/ui/8bit/label.tsx".
Verdict
Do not publish this registry item as working in its current form. The build fails because the retro card wrapper imports a base card module that is not present, and the bare version also lacks the shared utility import. It needs a shadcn-style setup plus repaired registry dependency installation before it can be evaluated at runtime.
Use it if
- You already maintain compatible shadcn primitives and want a pixel-art authentication shell.
- You are prepared to connect the form, recovery link, signup link, and provider buttons to real authentication flows.
- A remotely hosted retro font and the component's strong visual style fit your product requirements.
Skip it if
- You need a drop-in login form for a plain React project without shadcn infrastructure.
- You need a verified build from the published registry item, because its base card import is unresolved.
- You expect authentication logic, validation feedback, loading states, or working provider sign-in out of the box.
- Your product cannot load fonts from an external stylesheet or does not suit a pixel-art interface.
Install
| Declared dependencies | radix-ui, clsx, tailwind-merge |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
A non-shadcn project must add the cn class-merging utility; compatible base button, card, input, and label components; Tailwind theme tokens and alias resolution; class-variance-authority and Radix UI support; and the retro stylesheet and font. The missing base card path must also be supplied or its imports rewritten before building. Authentication handlers, routes, validation, and submission behavior remain application work.
