kokonut-ai-input-search

inputdark-futuristicmotion on file

A client-side React search composer with an auto-growing textarea, file picker, animated web-search toggle, and submit callback. It ships as a shadcn registry component and hook, and depends on Motion, Lucide icons, the shadcn Textarea, a local cn helper, and path aliases.

BARE BUILD

Verdict

A polished starting shell for an AI search composer, but not production-ready unchanged because an icon-only action lacks an accessible name. It builds and mounts in the prepared harness, while bare use fails and needs a shadcn-style setup.

Use it if

  • You need a compact AI or web-search prompt composer with multiline input and keyboard submission.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions and can reuse its Textarea, utility helper, and import aliases.
  • You want an attachment affordance and an animated search-mode toggle in the input shell.

Skip it if

  • You need an accessible component without remediation, since an icon-only button lacks a discernible name.
  • You want a drop-in component for a plain React project with no shadcn-style scaffolding.
  • You need the attachment and search controls to perform real work out of the box; they currently expose only local UI behavior.

In a non-shadcn project, add the Textarea primitive, the included auto-resize hook, a cn class-merging helper, Lucide React, Motion, Tailwind-compatible styles, and matching import aliases. Add accessible labels to icon-only controls and wire attachment and search-mode behavior to your application.
