kokonut-scroll-text

scroll-effectdark-futuristicmotion on file

A client-side React and Tailwind text scroller that highlights the centered label while Motion animates each item into view. It ships as a shadcn registry component, accepts a text list and class override, and depends on Motion plus the usual cn utility alias.

BARE BUILD

Verdict

A focused visual effect that builds and mounts in its intended environment, but it needs a shadcn-style setup. Treat it as a starting point, since the scroll region lacks keyboard access and muted labels fail contrast checks.

Use it if

  • You need a compact, self-scrolling list of technologies, categories, or short labels.
  • Your project already uses Tailwind, Motion, and shadcn-style path aliases.
  • You are prepared to fix the component's contrast and keyboard access before release.

Skip it if

  • The scrolling content must be keyboard accessible without modification.
  • Your design requires verified text contrast out of the box.
  • You want a lightweight static list without an animation dependency.
  • Your labels may be long enough that forced no-wrap text becomes awkward.

In a non-shadcn project, add Motion and Tailwind, provide a cn class-merging helper, configure the at-sign source alias, and preserve client-side rendering. Also add keyboard focus and scrolling behavior, then adjust muted text colors to meet contrast requirements.
