magicui-avatar-circles

avatarbento

A client-side React component that renders linked profile images as an overlapping avatar row, with an optional remaining-people badge. It ships as shadcn registry source, declares no package dependencies, and relies on Tailwind utility classes plus the customary cn helper imported through the project alias.

Verdict

Useful as a tiny source component in an existing design system, but the provided demo does not mount because the required avatar list is omitted. The bare version also needs a shadcn-style setup, including its utility import. Adopt it only if you are comfortable wiring props and project conventions yourself.

Use it if

  • You need a compact row of linked member or customer avatars.
  • Your app already uses Tailwind and a shadcn-style utility setup.
  • You can supply the required avatar URL and profile URL data explicitly.

Skip it if

  • You need a drop-in component that renders safely without required props.
  • Your project does not use Tailwind utility classes and you do not want to translate the styling.
  • You need a non-linking avatar group or richer overflow interactions such as a popover.

Providerno provider required in the harness

In a non-shadcn project, add Tailwind or replace the utility classes, provide a cn class-merging helper, and either configure the project alias used by the import or change it to a local path. Always pass an avatar list, even when it is empty.
