Measured entry
motion-primitives-infinite-slider
scroll-effectspatialmotion on file
A client-side React marquee for continuously looping arbitrary children horizontally or vertically. It ships as shadcn registry source, duplicates the child set to form the loop, and depends on Motion, react-use-measure, Tailwind utility classes, and a local cn helper.

BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 27.48s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/infinite-slider.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A solid source-owned marquee with useful motion controls and a clean verified mount, but narrow layouts need containment work and the dependency cost is meaningful. It needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare project cannot resolve its local utility import.
Use it if
- You need a continuously moving logo, sponsor, or compact content rail.
- You want configurable direction, reversal, spacing, and hover speed in a source-owned component.
- Your app already uses Motion and can absorb another measurement hook.
Skip it if
- You need reliable narrow-screen containment without modifying the component or its wrapper.
- You want a dependency-light marquee implemented with existing CSS animation utilities.
- Duplicating interactive or screen-reader-relevant children would create confusing repeated content.
- Your project cannot provide Tailwind utilities or the expected local cn helper.
Install
| Declared dependencies | motion, react-use-measure |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, install Motion and react-use-measure, add a cn class-merging helper or replace that call, configure the at-sign source alias, and provide the Tailwind utility styles used by the component. Add overflow containment around the slider for narrow layouts.
