originui-input-01

inputunclassified

A compact labeled email field that pairs a native input with an associated Radix label and a generated React ID. It ships as a shadcn registry component that pulls in shared Input and Label primitives, and depends on React, radix-ui, Tailwind utility and theme conventions, plus a cn class-merging helper.

Verdict

A sound, deliberately basic field scaffold with accessible label wiring and clean responsive behavior. It is not drop-in for a bare React app and needs a shadcn-style setup, so it is most sensible when those conventions are already part of the project.

Use it if

  • You need a straightforward labeled email field with correct label-to-input association.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and the cn utility.
  • You want a small starting point whose native input props and styles can be extended locally.

Skip it if

  • Your design system does not use Tailwind utilities or shadcn path aliases and theme tokens.
  • You need validation messages, helper text, form state, or submission behavior included.
  • You do not want a Radix dependency for a basic label and native input pairing.

In a non-shadcn project, add radix-ui, provide the Input and Label primitives, configure Tailwind with the referenced theme tokens and utility syntax, create a cn class-merging helper, and replace or configure the registry path aliases.
