ruixen-scroll-burn-text

scroll-effectunclassifiedmotion on file

A client-side React and Tailwind scroll narrative that scales layered text toward the reader, burns it away glyph by glyph, adds a color split and grain, then reveals the next section. It ships as a shadcn registry item and uses browser scroll and resize APIs rather than an animation library. It depends on the project cn utility, clsx, tailwind-merge, and shadcn-style theme classes.

Verdict

A distinctive fit for a short manifesto or campaign interlude, with sensible reduced-motion handling and no external motion package. It needs a shadcn-style setup to mount, and teams should fix keyboard access for the scrollable region before shipping the bounded-panel version.

Use it if

  • You need a full-screen editorial passage where scrolling controls a fixed sequence of text sections.
  • You want a cinematic burn and depth effect without adding a dedicated animation library.
  • Your design can accommodate a dominant, motion-led section with a plain reduced-motion reading mode.

Skip it if

  • You need dense copy, links, controls, or selectable content inside the animated sections.
  • Your page cannot afford hundreds of per-glyph elements and scroll-driven style updates.
  • You need the supplied bounded scroll region to be keyboard-ready without accessibility work.
  • Your visual system does not use Tailwind or shadcn-style background, foreground, and muted tokens.

In a non-shadcn project, add Tailwind with background, foreground, and muted foreground theme classes; provide the aliased cn helper at the expected lib path using clsx and tailwind-merge; preserve the client-component boundary; and make any custom scroll container focusable and clearly labeled.
