ruixen-scroll-portrait-wall

scroll-effectunclassifiedmotion on file

A client-side React portrait wall that scatters supplied speakers across responsive rows while a sticky title overlays the scroll. It ships as a shadcn registry component and uses GSAP, ScrollTrigger, the GSAP React hook, Tailwind theme classes, and the shared cn utility.

BARE BUILD

✗ Build failed in 32.36s

Verdict

A credible choice for a high-impact roster section, with responsive behavior, reduced-motion handling, and a clean verified build. It does not mount bare and needs a shadcn-style setup, so teams outside that ecosystem must wire its utility and theme assumptions first.

Use it if

  • You need an editorial speaker, team, or contributor showcase led by scroll motion.
  • Your React app already uses Tailwind and a shadcn-style component structure.
  • You want configurable portraits, captions, columns, title, date, and scroll hint in one component.

Skip it if

  • Your page has a strict bundle budget and does not already ship GSAP.
  • You need a compact directory rather than a long, presentation-led scroll sequence.
  • Your design system cannot support the background, foreground, and muted theme tokens it expects.
  • You cannot permit the default demo portraits to load from an external image host.

In a non-shadcn project, install GSAP and its React package, configure the source alias or replace the cn import with a local class-merging helper, and provide Tailwind plus equivalent background, foreground, and muted color tokens. Replace the hosted demo portraits with your own assets.
