uilayouts-scroll-animation-default

scroll-effectspatialmotion on file

A client-side React wrapper that reveals any child as it enters the viewport, with configurable direction, delay, variants, viewport behavior, and semantic element. It ships as a shadcn registry item with a gallery demo, uses Motion for animation, and imports the usual aliased cn utility.

Verdict

A practical, flexible reveal primitive that built and mounted cleanly in the prepared harness. The bare check fails because the aliased cn utility is absent, so it needs a shadcn-style setup or a small import rewrite. Worth using when Motion is already part of the app.

Use it if

  • You want a reusable reveal wrapper for editorial sections, cards, or gallery items.
  • Your app already uses Motion and shadcn-style aliases and utilities.
  • You need per-instance control over direction, delay, viewport thresholds, or custom variants.

Skip it if

  • You only need a basic fade-in and do not want to add Motion for one effect.
  • Your accessibility policy requires an explicit reduced-motion path before animated content ships.
  • You need a strongly typed polymorphic primitive; this component accepts broad props and a fixed element list.

In a non-shadcn project, install Motion, replace the aliased cn import with your own class-name helper or remove it, and configure the path alias if you keep that import. Preserve the client-component boundary in frameworks that distinguish server and client components.
