A responsive, column-based image gallery shipped as a client React block plus a reusable lazy-image helper. It uses Motion for viewport detection, a Radix-backed Aspect Ratio component, Tailwind utility classes, and the shadcn-style cn helper. The supplied gallery fills itself with randomized remote demo images.

Verdict

A solid visual starter for shadcn-based projects, with clean responsive behavior and useful deferred image loading. It is still demo-oriented, and bare use fails because it needs a shadcn-style setup. Replace the randomized remote content and correct the image semantics before shipping.

Use it if

  • You want a ready-made editorial or inspiration gallery with mixed landscape and portrait cards.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind utilities, and path aliases.
  • You need images to wait for viewport entry before their sources are assigned.

Skip it if

  • You need a true masonry layout that packs items by height instead of splitting them into fixed columns.
  • You require deterministic server rendering, since aspect ratios are randomized during render.
  • You need production content wiring, captions, selection, or lightbox behavior out of the box.
  • Your accessibility policy rejects decorative image roles paired with meaningful alt text without adjustment.
