Measured entry
fancy-element-along-svg-path
transition-effectspatialmotion on file
A React primitive that moves child elements along a custom SVG path, either on a repeating timeline or in response to scrolling. It ships as shadcn registry source, uses Motion for animation and CSS path offsets for placement, and imports a shadcn-compatible cn helper from the project utility alias.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 30.26s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/fancy/blocks/element-along-svg-path.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A capable, configurable primitive for decorative path motion, with clean prepared-project behavior and no measured accessibility flags. It is not a drop-in for a bare React app: it needs a shadcn-style setup or equivalent alias and utility wiring.
Use it if
- You need badges, markers, or decorative content to follow a custom SVG route.
- You want a choice between an automatic loop and scroll-linked movement.
- You need several path items with separate starting offsets or transition settings.
- Your project already uses Motion and a shadcn-style source layout.
Skip it if
- You need a dependency-free component that can be copied into any React project unchanged.
- You require built-in reduced-motion handling rather than adding that behavior yourself.
- You need strict server-rendered identifier stability and cannot supply an explicit path identifier.
- You need interactive path editing or route calculation rather than animation along a path you provide.
Install
| Declared dependencies | motion |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn React project, install Motion, provide a cn class-merging helper, and either configure the project utility alias or rewrite that import. Add Tailwind support for the layout classes used by the source, or replace those classes with equivalent CSS.
