magicui-neon-gradient-card

cardgradient-glowmotion on file

A client-side React wrapper that gives arbitrary card content an animated two-color border and blurred glow. It ships as shadcn registry source, uses Tailwind utility classes and theme CSS for its animation, and imports the usual cn helper through the @ alias. It has no extra package dependency beyond the host React styling setup.

Verdict

A focused effect that builds, mounts, stays within its viewports, and exposes useful color controls in the prepared harness. It needs a shadcn-style setup: the bare project cannot resolve its cn utility import, so this is source to integrate rather than a drop-in package.

Use it if

  • You want a prominent dark-surface card with a configurable neon border and glow.
  • Your app already supports shadcn registry conventions, Tailwind theme utilities, and the @ import alias.
  • You need the card to accept normal div attributes and arbitrary React children.

Skip it if

  • You need a quiet card treatment without continuous decorative animation.
  • Your design system does not use Tailwind or shadcn-style utility and alias conventions.
  • The card can resize independently of the window or its children, because its measured glow geometry may not refresh for that change.

Providerno provider required in the harness

In a non-shadcn project, add an @ path alias, provide a compatible cn class-merging helper at lib/utils, enable the Tailwind utilities used by the source, and register the background-position animation and its keyframes in the theme CSS. Keep it as a client component because it reads element dimensions and listens for window resize events.
