Measured entry
neobrutalism-dialog
A client-side React dialog shipped as a shadcn registry TypeScript file. It wraps Radix Dialog primitives with neobrutalist borders, shadow, overlay, transitions, and a built-in Lucide close icon. It depends on Radix Dialog, React, Lucide, a cn class helper, Tailwind utilities, and the theme tokens used by the source.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 50.35s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/dialog.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A sound choice for an existing neobrutalist shadcn codebase: it builds, mounts, stays within the tested viewports, and exposes the expected Radix composition pieces. It needs a shadcn-style setup, since the bare project cannot resolve its cn utility import.
Use it if
- You already use shadcn conventions and want a neobrutalist modal that drops into the same component structure.
- You need Radix-managed focus, dismissal, portals, titles, and descriptions behind a custom visual treatment.
- Your Tailwind theme already defines the background, border, overlay, radius, font, and shadow tokens referenced by the component.
Skip it if
- Your project is not prepared to supply shadcn aliases, the cn helper, and matching Tailwind theme tokens.
- You want a dependency-light native dialog instead of Radix and Lucide in the component path.
- You need a neutral design-system primitive rather than the opinionated neobrutalist border and shadow treatment.
Install
| Declared dependencies | @radix-ui/react-dialog |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add Radix Dialog and Lucide React, provide or replace the cn helper and its path alias, configure Tailwind animation utilities, and define the referenced color, radius, font, and shadow theme tokens. Ensure the file runs as a client component.
