Measured entry
shadcn-alert-dialog
A registry-delivered React and TypeScript alert dialog built on Radix UI primitives. It ships as source code rather than a standalone package and composes a portal, overlay, content, title, description, media, and action controls. Its styling relies on Tailwind theme tokens and animations, plus shadcn's shared class utility and Button component.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 32.51s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/alert-dialog.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A dependable choice for an existing shadcn codebase, with sensible composition and Radix behavior. It is not portable as copied source: the bare mount fails, so it needs a shadcn-style setup and should be treated as a design-system component rather than an isolated dialog.
Use it if
- You need a modal confirmation flow for destructive or consequential actions.
- Your app already follows shadcn conventions and has the shared Button and class utility in place.
- You want Radix-managed dialog behavior while retaining direct ownership of the component source.
Skip it if
- You need a drop-in package that brings its own styling and has no project-local imports.
- Your design system does not use Tailwind theme tokens or shadcn component conventions.
- You only need an informational modal where explicit confirmation semantics would be misleading.
Install
| Declared dependencies | radix-ui |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add Radix UI, provide a compatible class-merging utility and Button component, configure the expected import aliases, and supply Tailwind theme tokens plus the state-based animation utilities used by the source.
