neobrutalism-ndialog
A neobrutalist modal dialog shipped as a shadcn registry TypeScript client component. It wraps Radix Dialog primitives and includes overlay, content, trigger, close, header, footer, title, and description exports. Styling relies on Tailwind classes, project theme tokens, a local cn helper, React, and the Lucide close icon.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 27.24s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/dialog.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A solid choice inside an existing shadcn-style design system: it builds, mounts, stays within the tested viewports, and exposes sensible Radix composition points. It needs a shadcn-style setup, since the bare project cannot resolve its local utility import.
Use it if
- Your app already uses shadcn conventions and you want a bold bordered dialog that fits a neobrutalist theme.
- You need Radix-managed focus, dismissal, portals, and accessible title and description primitives.
- You want composable dialog parts that can accept project-specific content and class overrides.
Skip it if
- Your project does not use Tailwind or cannot supply the component's custom theme tokens.
- You want a dependency-free modal or need to avoid adding Radix Dialog and Lucide React.
- Your design system favors subtle borders and shadows rather than the component's neobrutalist treatment.
Install
| Declared dependencies | @radix-ui/react-dialog |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add Radix Dialog and Lucide React, provide the local cn class-merging helper or change that import, configure Tailwind, define the referenced color, radius, font, and shadow tokens, and include compatible state animation utilities.
