Verdict

A capable application shell that builds and mounts cleanly in its intended environment, but it needs a shadcn-style setup. Treat SidebarInset as the page's sole main landmark to avoid the duplicate and nested landmark issues found in the demo.

Use it if

  • You need one navigation shell that changes from a collapsible desktop rail to a mobile drawer.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions and neobrutalist theme tokens.
  • You want composable menu, badge, submenu, footer, skeleton, and trigger pieces instead of a fixed sidebar layout.

Skip it if

  • Your project cannot adopt shadcn-style aliases, helpers, theme tokens, and companion UI primitives.
  • Your page already has a main landmark that must wrap the sidebar inset, since the inset itself renders as main.
