Measured entry

originui-comp-40

calendarminimal-flat

A client-side, segmented date-and-time field configured for minute entry and a day-long clock. It ships as a shadcn registry component plus a shared DateField wrapper, using React Aria Components for behavior, Tailwind utility classes for styling, and a local cn helper for class composition.

Verdict

A sound accessible-behavior foundation with responsive rendering, but the tested styling has a serious contrast defect that must be corrected. It also needs a shadcn-style setup to build and mount, so it is best adopted inside an existing compatible design system.

Use it if

  • You need keyboard-aware segmented date and time entry instead of a free-form text field.
  • Your app already uses React Aria Components and shadcn-style theme tokens.
  • You want an inline field that stays within narrow and wide layouts.

Skip it if

  • Your design system cannot accept the observed text contrast issue without restyling muted and segment states.
  • You want a calendar popover or date picker rather than direct segmented entry.
  • You need a dependency-light native input and do not otherwise use React Aria Components.
  • Your project lacks Tailwind theme tokens and you do not want to translate the utility classes.

Providerno provider required in the harness

In a non-shadcn project, add React Aria Components, provide the cn class-merging helper and matching import aliases, configure Tailwind, and define the foreground, muted, border, accent, ring, background, and destructive theme tokens used by the component. Then revise the affected colors to meet contrast requirements.
