originui-comp-42
A client-side date-range picker with editable start and end fields and a calendar popover. It ships as a shadcn registry component composed from Origin UI's RangeCalendar and DateInput primitives, using React Aria Components, Internationalized Date, Lucide icons, Tailwind theme classes, and a cn utility.

Verdict
A solid, flexible range picker for teams already invested in React Aria and Origin UI. It builds and mounts in the prepared harness, but the detected contrast issue needs correction. It also needs a shadcn-style setup and does not work as a bare copy.
Use it if
- You need an accessible date-range control that supports both typing and calendar selection.
- Your app already uses shadcn-style aliases, Tailwind theme tokens, and Origin UI's React Aria calendar primitives.
- You want locale-aware date behavior supplied by the React Aria ecosystem.
Skip it if
- You need a dependency-light picker and do not otherwise use the React Aria date stack.
- Your project cannot supply the registry's RangeCalendar, DateInput, styling tokens, and cn utility.
- You need the shipped colors to pass contrast checks without design-system adjustments.
Install
| Declared dependencies | react-aria-components, @internationalized/date |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, install React Aria Components, Internationalized Date, and Lucide React. Copy the Origin UI RangeCalendar and DateInput registry dependencies, provide a cn class-merging helper and matching import aliases, then map the Tailwind color, border, ring, shadow, and animation classes to your design system. Review the muted text colors for adequate contrast.
