originui-comp-71

textareaminimal-flat

A React textarea with a label cut into the top border. It ships as a shadcn registry component, composes shared Label and Textarea primitives, uses React useId for the label association, and depends on Tailwind theme utilities plus the declared Radix UI package.

BARE BUILD

✗ Build failed in 4.13s

Verdict

A clean, focused choice for shadcn-based forms, with sound label association and dependable layout behavior. It needs a shadcn-style setup: the bare project fails because the Label primitive imports a shared utility module that is not included there.

Use it if

  • You want a compact multiline field whose label stays visible before and after entry.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and shared form primitives.
  • You need a simple labeled textarea that remains stable across narrow and wide layouts.

Skip it if

  • You need helper text, validation messaging, a character counter, or autosizing built in.
  • Your design system avoids labels that interrupt field borders.
  • You want a standalone component with no path aliases, shared utilities, or theme-token setup.

For a non-shadcn project, add the registry Label and Textarea primitives, the declared Radix UI dependency, Tailwind and the expected theme tokens, an at-sign path alias, and a shared class-name utility at the imported lib path.
