ruixen-calendar-twin

calendarunclassifiedmotion on file

A client-side React range picker that renders adjacent months, previews the span on hover, animates month changes, and can play click feedback through Web Audio. It ships as shadcn registry source and depends on Motion, Tailwind utility classes, and a local cn helper.

Verdict

A polished desktop-oriented range picker with clear feedback and a small API, but its rigid twin-month layout needs mobile work. It also needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare project cannot resolve its local utility import.

Use it if

  • You need a compact desktop date-range picker for bookings, travel, or reporting periods.
  • You want callers to receive simple start and end date strings through a callback.
  • Your interface benefits from hover range previews and animated month navigation.
  • Optional audible click feedback fits the product, or you are comfortable disabling it.

Skip it if

  • The picker must fit narrow mobile screens without a responsive redesign.
  • You need single-date selection, time selection, blocked dates, or minimum-stay rules out of the box.
  • You need a drop-in package that is independent of Tailwind aliases and local utilities.
  • Adding Motion for one calendar is not justified in your dependency budget.

In a non-shadcn project, install Motion, provide a cn class-merging helper, configure the local import alias, and supply the Tailwind utilities and dark-mode styles used by the source. Keep it in a client-rendered React boundary, and disable sound if Web Audio feedback is unwanted.
