Verdict

A solid choice inside an existing shadcn-style app: it built, mounted, adapted across the tested viewports, and produced no reported accessibility violations. It needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare project cannot resolve its local utility import.

Use it if

  • You want a swipe-aware modal drawer that can open from any screen edge.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and a cn class-merging helper.
  • You prefer owning a small wrapper layer while Vaul handles drawer behavior and accessibility.

Skip it if

  • You need a drop-in package with self-contained styles and no project aliases.
  • You want to avoid the added client bundle cost of the Vaul interaction layer.
  • Your interface only needs a static side panel without modal or drag behavior.
