Measured entry
shadcn-sheet
A client-side React sheet built as a thin composition over Radix Dialog primitives, with portals, overlay, close control, headings, and panels that enter from any edge. It ships as copied TypeScript source rather than a standalone widget, and relies on radix-ui, lucide-react, a cn helper, Tailwind utilities, animation classes, and shadcn theme tokens.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 2.65s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/sheet.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A solid choice inside an existing shadcn codebase: it built and mounted cleanly, stayed contained across the tested layouts, and raised no automated accessibility findings. It needs a shadcn-style setup, so adopting it elsewhere carries real styling and utility setup work.
Use it if
- You already use shadcn conventions and need an off-canvas filter, navigation, or detail panel.
- You want Radix dialog behavior while retaining direct control over the component source and utility classes.
- Your interface needs the same panel API to support entry from the top, right, bottom, or left.
Skip it if
- Your project does not use Tailwind or shadcn theme tokens and you do not want to translate its styling layer.
- You need a non-modal drawer that leaves the rest of the page interactive.
- You prefer a packaged component with styles and helpers included instead of copied source tied to local conventions.
Install
| Declared dependencies | radix-ui |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add radix-ui and lucide-react, provide the cn class-merging helper and its import alias, configure Tailwind, define the referenced theme tokens and animation utilities, and keep the file in a client-capable React boundary. Otherwise, rewrite the classes and helper import for your styling system.
