shadcn-resizable

cardunclassified

A client-side source component that wraps react-resizable-panels with shadcn-style panel, group, and separator exports. It ships as copied TSX rather than a standalone widget, and depends on react-resizable-panels, Lucide React, Tailwind utility classes and theme tokens, plus the shadcn cn helper resolved through the project alias.

Verdict

A sound, thin wrapper that builds, mounts, and stays contained across the tested layouts. It needs a shadcn-style setup before it will work in a bare project because the source imports the shared cn helper through the shadcn alias. Fix the demo's nested main landmark before shipping it.

Use it if

  • You need adjustable split panes for editors, inboxes, dashboards, or other desktop workspaces.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and the cn utility.
  • You want direct ownership of a small wrapper around react-resizable-panels.

Skip it if

  • Your interface should stack content instead of preserving draggable panes on narrow screens.
  • You want a framework-neutral package with no Tailwind, alias, or shadcn utility assumptions.
  • You cannot accept the added client bundle cost of the panel library.
  • Your page already defines a main landmark and you plan to copy the demo markup unchanged, since that demo nests another main landmark.

In a non-shadcn project, add react-resizable-panels and Lucide React, provide a compatible cn class-merging helper, configure the source alias or replace that import, and supply Tailwind utilities plus matching border, ring, and background theme tokens. Mark the file for client rendering where the framework requires it.
