Verdict

A sound, focused stepper for a shadcn-based interface, with sensible labels and boundary states. It is only a visual state control until connected to media logic, and it needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare project cannot resolve the shared utility used by its Button dependency.

Use it if

  • You need a compact stepped control for a small, fixed set of volume levels.
  • Your interface already uses the shadcn registry conventions, Tailwind tokens, and Lucide icons.
  • You want labeled icon buttons, disabled endpoints, and live value announcements already wired in.

Skip it if

  • You need a continuous volume range, direct dragging, or native slider keyboard behavior.
  • The control must read from and write to a real media player instead of keeping its own local state.
  • Your project does not use Tailwind or shadcn-style aliases and you do not want to recreate that styling layer.
