Measured entry

originui-comp-114

buttonminimal-flat

A compact split action that pairs a Fork button and count badge with a separate icon-only options trigger. It ships as a shadcn registry TSX component and relies on the shared Button primitive, Tailwind theme utilities, Lucide icons, and the Radix UI dependency used by that primitive.

Verdict

A focused, well-composed split-button shell that mounts cleanly in its intended environment and adapts across the tested widths. It is not a complete dropdown, and it needs a shadcn-style setup before it will build or mount in a bare React project.

Use it if

  • You need a GitHub-style primary action with a visible count and adjacent options trigger.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and the shared Button primitive.
  • You intend to supply the dropdown behavior and menu content for the options trigger yourself.

Skip it if

  • You need a working dropdown menu rather than a styled trigger with no menu attached.
  • Your design system does not use shadcn path aliases or Tailwind utility classes.
  • A plain button would serve the action and the extra icon and primitive dependencies are not justified.

In a non-shadcn project, add the shared Button implementation, its class-merging utility at the expected utils alias, matching path aliases, Tailwind theme tokens and utilities, Lucide React, and Radix UI. Then connect the options trigger to your own menu component and state.
