Measured entry

originui-comp-116

buttonminimal-flat

A compact Next action button with a trailing chevron in a separately tinted end cap. It ships as an Origin UI registry component layered on the project button primitive, with Tailwind theme classes, Lucide, class-variance-authority, Radix Slot, and a local class-name utility behind it.

Verdict

A sound, focused treatment that builds, mounts, and stays clean in the configured harness. It is not portable as-is: the bare project fails on the missing local utility import, so it needs a shadcn-style setup. Best for teams already using that stack.

Use it if

  • You need a clear forward action for a wizard, checkout, or paginated flow.
  • Your app already uses shadcn-style aliases, theme tokens, and the shared button primitive.
  • You want the label and directional icon presented as one accessible native button.

Skip it if

  • You need a standalone button that can be copied into an unconfigured React project.
  • Your interface is right-to-left and the chevron direction must follow reading direction automatically.
  • Your design system does not use Tailwind utilities or shadcn-style color tokens.
  • You cannot justify adding Lucide and the shared button dependency for one small treatment.

In a non-shadcn project, add Tailwind with the expected theme tokens, Lucide React, Radix UI, class-variance-authority, the shared Button implementation, the local cn utility, and matching import aliases. Otherwise, replace those imports and utility classes with equivalents from your own design system.
