Verdict

A clean, accessible starting point for a compact social sign-in chooser, but it supplies no authentication behavior. It needs a shadcn-style setup, so it is a quick fit inside that ecosystem and a deliberate port elsewhere.

Use it if

  • You need a compact provider picker beside an existing sign-in flow.
  • Your product already uses shadcn conventions and the Origin UI Button can inherit its theme tokens.
  • You will connect each control to real provider authentication and supply loading and error behavior elsewhere.

Skip it if

  • Users may not recognize provider marks without visible text labels.
  • You need a complete authentication flow rather than a presentation-only button group.
  • Your brand or provider policy requires official button wording, lockups, or provider-specific layouts.
  • You want to avoid adding an icon library and shadcn utility conventions for a small control set.

In a non-shadcn project, add Tailwind with the referenced theme tokens, a compatible cn class-merging helper and path alias, the Origin UI Button with class-variance-authority and Radix Slot support, plus the Remix Icon React package. Then wire each button to its provider flow.
