Measured entry

originui-comp-83

buttonminimal-flat

A static secondary button with a decorative leading X icon, shipped as a shadcn registry component. It wraps Origin UI's shared Button primitive and relies on Lucide icons, Radix Slot behavior, class-variance-authority, a cn helper, path aliases, and Tailwind theme tokens.

Verdict

A sound, accessible presentation example for teams already using Origin UI conventions. It builds and mounts in the prepared harness, but it needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare project cannot resolve the shared utility layer.

Use it if

  • You need a compact dismiss, remove, or cancel action with a leading X icon.
  • Your app already uses shadcn-style Button variants and Tailwind theme tokens.
  • You want the icon hidden from assistive technology while the visible label supplies the accessible name.

Skip it if

  • You need a self-contained button that can be copied into an unconfigured React project.
  • Your design system does not use Tailwind utilities or shadcn-style theme variables.
  • You need an icon-only close control or built-in click behavior instead of a labeled presentation example.

In a non-shadcn project, add the shared Button primitive, Lucide React, Radix UI, class-variance-authority, a cn class-merging helper, the expected import alias, and Tailwind styles with the referenced semantic color and focus tokens. Then wire your own click behavior.
