Measured entry

originui-comp-88

buttonminimal-flat

A compact primary button with a trailing chevron, intended to read as a dropdown trigger but containing no menu behavior. It ships as a shadcn registry component plus Origin UI's button primitive, and relies on React, Lucide, Radix Slot, class-variance-authority, a cn utility, and Tailwind theme classes.

Verdict

A sound, restrained trigger shell that builds, mounts, and avoids detected accessibility issues in the prepared harness. It is not a complete dropdown, and bare use fails because the shared utility import is absent, so it needs a shadcn-style setup.

Use it if

  • You need a consistent trigger shell for a menu you will wire up separately.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind theme tokens, and the shared button primitive.
  • You want an accessible native button whose decorative chevron stays hidden from assistive technology.

Skip it if

  • You expect a working dropdown, menu state, or popup positioning out of the box.
  • Your project does not use Tailwind semantic tokens or a shadcn-style cn helper.
  • You want a dependency-light button without Radix, Lucide, and variant tooling.

In a non-shadcn project, add the button primitive, cn class-merging utility, Tailwind semantic color tokens and styles, plus React, Lucide, Radix Slot, and class-variance-authority. Update the registry aliases to match your source layout, then add separate menu behavior if the chevron should open anything.
