Measured entry
ruixen-navbar-breadcrumb
A compact application header that combines a home logo link, responsive breadcrumb trail, notification button, and user avatar. It ships as a shadcn registry component for React and Next.js, using Tailwind utility classes, the shadcn Button and Avatar primitives, a cn helper, Lucide icons, and Radix-backed UI dependencies.

BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 44.89s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/navbar-breadcrumb.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A useful, restrained shell for shadcn-based dashboards, and it builds and mounts cleanly in that environment. It needs a shadcn-style setup, and it should not ship unchanged: label the notification button and correct the low-contrast text treatment first.
Use it if
- You need a simple account or project header with hierarchy visible on wider screens.
- Your app already uses Next.js, Tailwind, and shadcn Button and Avatar components.
- You want breadcrumb labels, destinations, logo content, user identity, and notification count exposed as props.
Skip it if
- You need breadcrumbs to remain visible on narrow screens, since this implementation hides them there.
- You require an accessible component without remediation, since the icon button lacks an accessible name and one text treatment fails contrast checks.
- You use a router other than Next.js and do not want to replace its Link dependency.
- You want a standalone header without shadcn utilities, primitives, and theme tokens.
Install
| Declared dependencies | lucide-react, radix-ui |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add Tailwind theme tokens and the cn class helper, provide compatible Button and Avatar primitives backed by Radix, install Lucide icons, configure the @ path alias, and replace Next.js Link if the app uses another router. Also add an accessible label to the notification control and adjust muted text contrast.
