Measured entry
ruixen-navbar-floating
A client-side React navigation shell shipped as a shadcn registry component. It uses Next.js Link, a local cn utility, a registry Button, Tailwind theme classes, and the declared radix-ui package. The pill header accepts custom logo, links, actions, and wrapper classes, while compact layouts hide the navigation links.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 41.11s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/navbar-floating.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A tidy, adaptable desktop header that works in the configured harness, but it is a styled shell rather than a complete responsive navigation system. It needs a shadcn-style setup, and teams must add their own mobile navigation and scroll behavior.
Use it if
- You need a compact pill-style header for a Next.js page and already use shadcn conventions.
- Your product navigation can collapse to a logo and primary action on smaller screens.
- You want a simple presentational shell whose links, active state, logo, and actions are supplied by the parent.
Skip it if
- You need a mobile menu, because the link list is hidden without a replacement control.
- You expect the bar to stay fixed or sticky while scrolling, because its floating treatment is visual only.
- You are building outside Next.js and do not want to replace its Link import or recreate shadcn aliases and theme tokens.
Install
| Declared dependencies | radix-ui |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add Tailwind with matching background, accent, foreground, border, and shadow tokens; provide the cn class-merging helper and a compatible Button; install radix-ui; configure the import aliases; and either use Next.js Link or replace it with the project's router link.
