tripled-native-delete-shadcnui

buttonminimal-flatmotion on file

A client-side React delete button that changes into a confirmation action and reveals a separate cancel control with animated layout and icon transitions. It ships as a shadcn registry TSX component and depends on React, Framer Motion, Lucide icons, a local shadcn Button, and the cn class utility.

What the harness recorded

BARE BUILD

✗ Build failed in 41.05s
error during build:

Verdict

A focused, accessible inline delete confirmation that builds and mounts cleanly in the prepared harness. The interaction is useful for simple destructive actions, but its animation dependency is substantial for a button. It needs a shadcn-style setup and does not work as a bare drop-in.

Use it if

  • You want an inline confirmation step for destructive actions without opening a dialog.
  • Your app already uses shadcn conventions, Tailwind utility classes, and Framer Motion.
  • You need configurable labels, sizing, icons, disabled state, and separate callbacks for opening and confirming the action.

Skip it if

  • A destructive action needs an explanation, typed confirmation, or recovery details that belong in a dialog.
  • You want to avoid adding Framer Motion for one small interaction.
  • Your design system does not expose shadcn-compatible Button variants or the cn utility.
  • You need confirmation state controlled by a parent or preserved across rerenders.

In a non-shadcn project, add React, Framer Motion, Lucide React, and the button's Radix-backed requirements, then provide a compatible Button component, a cn class-merging utility, Tailwind styles for destructive and outline variants, and matching import aliases.
