Measured entry
originui-comp-105
A client-side copy icon button with an instant tooltip and a temporary checked state after activation. It ships as a shadcn registry component and composes local Button and Tooltip components, React state, Lucide icons, Tailwind classes, and a cn utility. The supplied copy operation is commented out, so integration must provide the actual clipboard write.

What the harness recorded
BARE BUILD
✗ Build failed in 27.43s error during build: [vite:load-fallback] Could not load <sandbox>/src/lib/utils (imported by src/cut/components/ui/comp-105.tsx): ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '<sandbox>/src/lib/utils'
Verdict
A sound micro-interaction for an existing shadcn codebase, with clean mounting and accessibility checks. It is not functional copy UI until you restore the clipboard call, and it needs a shadcn-style setup because the bare mount fails on the expected local utility import.
Use it if
- You need a compact copy control that confirms activation by swapping its icon.
- Your app already uses shadcn-style Button and Tooltip primitives with Tailwind utilities.
- You want tooltip behavior built on Radix and can connect the handler to real clipboard content.
Skip it if
- You need a ready-to-use clipboard action, because the supplied handler only changes visual state.
- Your design system does not use Tailwind utilities or shadcn-style local component aliases.
- You want a labeled control whose purpose remains visible without hover or focus.
Install
| Declared dependencies | radix-ui |
|---|---|
| Missing on install | none |
| Bare install | fails once the shadcn-style helpers are removed, so it needs that setup |
| Provider | no provider required in the harness |
In a non-shadcn project, add the Radix tooltip dependency, Lucide React icons, Tailwind utility styling, a cn class-merging helper, and compatible Button and Tooltip wrappers. Configure the local import alias or replace those imports, then implement the clipboard write and choose the value to copy.
